Ralph “Skip” McBride is a highly respected trial lawyer whose distinguished legal career spans more than four decades. Widely recognized for his sound judgment, courtroom experience, and unwavering commitment to clients, Skip has represented businesses, financial institutions, energy companies, insurers, investors, and individuals in complex disputes throughout Texas and across the United States.

Throughout his career, Skip has handled a broad range of high-stakes matters involving commercial litigation, contract disputes, real estate litigation, oil and gas controversies, product liability claims, securities matters, trusts and probate disputes, construction litigation, and catastrophic personal injury cases. His practical approach, exceptional advocacy skills, and ability to navigate challenging legal issues have earned him the trust of clients facing their most significant legal challenges.

Before joining The Lanier Law Firm as Of Counsel, Skip spent more than 40 years at one of Texas’s premier law firms, where he served in leadership roles and helped build nationally respected insurance, banking, and commercial litigation practices. His experience advising institutions and business leaders provides clients with a unique perspective that combines strategic thinking with proven trial experience.

Skip earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Baylor University before graduating cum laude from Baylor University School of Law. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, multiple federal district courts, and the states of Texas and Arkansas.

Recognized by his peers for professional excellence and ethical leadership, Skip has been honored as a Texas Super Lawyer and holds the prestigious AV Preeminent® rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He is a Fellow of both the Houston Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Association and is an active member of the Texas Bar Foundation.
